Cleveland Firefighters Struck at Crash Scene

Three Cleveland firefighters were hospitalized after being hit by a car at the scene of a crash Sunday morning, according to WKYC-TV. Crews were operating collision on I-480 West near Lee Road when an oncoming car drove in between the median and a fire truck blocking the lane, striking the firefighters. The firefighters were transported to MetroHealth Medical Center and are in stable condition but one sustained significant lower body injuries and may require surgery, according to the report.

The civilian driver was also hospitalized following the incident.

The crash is currently under investigation.
