Three Solomons firefighters sustained burns to their hands, faces, and backs and one St. Leonard firefighter received a fractured ankle.

Crews were called to the fire at a home in the 2000 block of Sprout Lane shortly after 2 p.m.

Close to 65 firefighters from Solomons, Prince Frederick, Bay District and St. Leonard volunteer fire departments responded.

The cause of the fire was deemed accidental and originated in the garage as the result of a vehicle's fuel injection system igniting while being repaired, according to the report.

Damages were estimated at $250,000 to the house and an adjacent barn.
