Ga. Firefighter Disoriented in Warehouse Fire

ATLANTA -- Atlanta fire crews are on the scene of a large warehouse fire in northwest Atlanta. Sgt. Bobby Stewart with Atlanta Fire said a firefighter became disoriented while fighting the fire. He made his way out of the building and was taken to Grady Hospital suffering from dehydration and heat exhaustion. Firefighters are working to contain the flames to the paper and plastic recycling plant off Chappell Road.

Atlanta fire crews are on the scene of a large warehouse fire in northwest Atlanta.

Sgt. Bobby Stewart with Atlanta Fire said a firefighter became disoriented while fighting the fire. He made his way out of the building and was taken to Grady Hospital suffering from dehydration and heat exhaustion.

Firefighters are working to contain the flames to the paper and plastic recycling plant off Chappell Road.

The fire department has called in a third alarm to the scene. Officials say more than 120 firefighters are on site.

The cause of the fire is under investigation and crews are expected to be at the scene overnight.

There are no evacuations of nearby homes at this time.
