Colorado Firefighter Falls Through Burning Floor

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- A firefighter fell through the floor of a home Tuesday morning, but was not hurt. A neighbor saw smoke and flames coming from the attic of a home at 2979 South Elati Street in Denver at 5:35 a.m. and called the fire department, Brad Johnson with the Englewood Police Department told 7NEWS. Firefighters from Denver, Littleton and South Metro fought the two-alarm fire, Phil Champagne with the Denver Fire Department said.

A firefighter fell through the floor of a home Tuesday morning, but was not hurt.

A neighbor saw smoke and flames coming from the attic of a home at 2979 South Elati Street in Denver at 5:35 a.m. and called the fire department, Brad Johnson with the Englewood Police Department told 7NEWS.

Firefighters from Denver, Littleton and South Metro fought the two-alarm fire, Phil Champagne with the Denver Fire Department said.

A Mayday and emergency evacuation were called when one firefighter fell through the floor. He was not injured, and no other injuries were reported, officials said.

Investigators will determine the cause of the fire, Johnson said.
