Ohio Firefighter, Resident Injured at House Fire

MIAMI TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- A firefighter was injured Thursday night after she slipped on some ice during the overhaul phase of a structure fire, investigators said. She injured her knee. Fire crews were called to the scene at 1648 State Route 131 around 7:30 p.m. Firefighters found heavy fire on the rear side of the building on the second floor extending into the attic. The residents had exited the house.

Fire crews were called to the scene at 1648 State Route 131 around 7:30 p.m.

Firefighters found heavy fire on the rear side of the building on the second floor extending into the attic. The residents had exited the house.

One of the homeowners complained of symptoms consistent with smoke inhalation. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
