Texas Firefighter Injured by Exploding Tire

Pieces of an exploding tire injured a Texas firefighter and a deputy Wednesday night. The captain with the Orange Fire Department was struck in the chest by debris from the tire off the 18-wheeler, according to KFDM.com. The deputy with the Precinct Two Constable's Office was struck in the face. Both were taken to local hospitals for treatment of non life-threatening injuries, the station reported. The tire that had been on fire exploded under pressure just as responders walked up.
