WOODSVILLE, N.H. --

Fire officials in Woodsville said a small fire broke out at Cottage Hospital Wednesday evening, forcing the kitchen to temporarily close.

Authorities in Woodsville said the fire was reported shortly before 8 p.m. Wednesday. Fire Chief Brad Kennedy, who works at the hospital, confirmed that there was a fire in the roof area over the kitchen.

Crews from several towns were called in to help battle the two-alarm fire.

Officials said the fire was contained to the roof area, where ventilation ducts exit. They said there was moderate damage to the roof and ceiling, and quite a bit of water in the kitchen. None of the hospital's patients had to be evacuated and no injuries were reported.

Woodsville fire officials said the hospital's kitchen will closed for an undetermined amount of time and meals will be brought in from the Horse Meadow Senior Center.
