N.H. Firefighter Hurt in Restaurant Fire

LANCASTER, NH -- Fire crews were called to the scene of a fire at Joshua's Grille on Portland Street in Lancaster early Tuesday morning. Fire officials said the fire started in the basement of the restaurant around midnight Tuesday. They said the owner was inside at the time, but managed to escape and get the people living in two attached apartments out of the building safely. One firefighter suffered a knee injury while battling the fire.

Fire crews were called to the scene of a fire at Joshua's Grille on Portland Street in Lancaster early Tuesday morning.

Fire officials said the fire started in the basement of the restaurant around midnight Tuesday. They said the owner was inside at the time, but managed to escape and get the people living in two attached apartments out of the building safely.

One firefighter suffered a knee injury while battling the fire.

Fire officials said the basement of the building sustained significant damage due to the fire and the rest of the restaurant sustained smoke damage.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, but fire officials said it does not appear to be suspicious.
