Ammonia Leak Hospitalizes 3 in Ohio

SPRINGDALE -- Three people were hospitalized Monday after an ammonia leak at a Springdale ice cream plant. One worker suffered slight burns and two became lightheaded and needed oxygen after the leak was reported at 9:30 a.m. at the Kroger facility on Chesterfield Road. None of their injuries were serious, firefighters said. The leak was contained within a few minutes, and the incident remains under investigation.

Three people were hospitalized Monday after an ammonia leak at a Springdale ice cream plant.

One worker suffered slight burns and two became lightheaded and needed oxygen after the leak was reported at 9:30 a.m. at the Kroger facility on Chesterfield Road.
