FRANKLIN, TENN. -- Firefighters are fighting a massive house fire in a $1.5 million home in the Westhaven subdivision of Franklin. The family who lived in the home was able to get out safely. However, an explosion on the second floor trapped some of the firefighters who battled the flames. One of the firemen was transported to Vanderbilt Hospital and is being treated for heat exhaustion. Two others experienced minor burns on their ears.
FRANKLIN, TENN. --
Firefighters are fighting a massive house fire in a $1.5 million home in the Westhaven subdivision of Franklin.
The family who lived in the home was able to get out safely.
However, an explosion on the second floor trapped some of the firefighters who battled the flames. One of the firemen was transported to Vanderbilt Hospital and is being treated for heat exhaustion. Two others experienced minor burns on their ears.
The home is 10,000 square feet and about 3,000 square feet of it was under construction.
The fire started in a fire place in the backyard and it is unclear how it spread to the house.
Half of the house is destroyed.
