Two Michigan Firefighters Injured

HIGHLAND PARK --  Two Highland Park firefighters were injured while responding to a call of a burning house. The Fire Department said that Jerome Brown and Christopher Tikkanen were rushed to Detroit Receiving. Brown, who suffered severe burns on both hands, is listed in critical condition. Tikkanen, who broke two bones in his foot, is listed in stable condition.

The Fire Department said that Jerome Brown and Christopher Tikkanen were rushed to Detroit Receiving. Brown, who suffered severe burns on both hands, is listed in critical condition.

Tikkanen, who broke two bones in his foot, is listed in stable condition.

It happened around 8:30 a.m. on Ford St between Woodward Avenue and Hamilton Avenue. The building was said to be a vacant two family flat. Investigators believe the fire was an arson.
