Two Mo. FFs Injured in Floor Collapse

Two Nevada, Mo. Firefighters were injured after falling through the floor of a burning building on Dec. 6, according to The Joplin Globe. Crews responded to the fire at the junction of 1300 and Quail roads just before 4 a.m. When the initial-attack crew entered the building, the floor collapsed, sending one firefighter into the basement and the other partially into the basement, Chief Robert Benin told the newspaper. Both firefighters were quickly rescued and suffered only minor injuries.

Officials told the newspaper that the fire started in the basement near a wood stove.
