A fire has destroyed city hall in Celina of Clay County.
The fire started just after 2 a.m.
According to Captain of the Clay County Rescue Squad Butch Burnette, two firemen were injured in the fire.
One fireman suffered from smoke inhalation; the other, debris fell on him.
Both firemen were transported to the Cumberland River Hospital but then returned back to the scene.
Since the building destroyed was city hall, many records were destroyed in the fire.
"One of the secretaries talking earlier that in the attic of the building was all the old records dating, you know, 50, 60 years back and then, of course, everything downstairs was totally destroyed," Burnette said. "Although they do have some of the fireproof cabinets, so, but the intensity of the fire, you know, we're not sure what condition that is going to be either."
There is no word what caused the fire, as of yet.
