May 01--NORFOLK -- A Norfolk firefighter was injured Wednesday morning in a blaze in the Norview section of the city.

The firefighter received minor burns to the face while responding to a house fire in the 6300 block of Trafalgar Court, said Julian Williamson, a spokesman for Norfolk Fire-Rescue. The firefighter was taken to a local hospital for treatment, Williamson said.

Fire crews were called to the two-story home about 11 a.m. and found smoke and flames coming from the residence, Williamson said.

A teenage girl and family pet were inside the home at the time of the blaze, but they escaped without injuries, Williamson said.

The fire marshal's office is investigating the blaze.
