July 12--A Macon-Bibb County firefighter remained in critical but stable condition at The Medical Center of Central Georgia Friday afternoon.
Sheriff's Lt. Sean DeFoe said the official condition of fire Sgt. Eric John, 42, has not changed Thursday evening, although officials told him that John is showing some signs of improvement.
John was injured Thursday morning when he was struck by a Toyota Camry while working to clean up a wreck on Interstate 75 northbound near the Sardis Church Road exit.
The driver of the vehicle, Nayef Mohammad Shroof, 18, of Warner Robins, hasn't been charged, but DeFoe said the case remains under investigation.
