A Miami fire captain has his gear to thank for saving him from serious injury in a fall through the roof of a strip mall early Thursday.
“The roof became unstable and one fire captain did fall halfway through the roof,” Miami Fire Rescue spokesman Ignatius Carroll told reporters.
But, the captain’s equipment caught him from a full fall and greater injury, Carroll told The Miami Herald.
He was checked on the scene, and is OK.
A hardware store, restaurant, medical center and underwear shop were damaged.
