A 31-year-old Oklahoma City firefighter on his way home after finishing his shift was killed in a wreck after his pickup went out of control and rolled.

Feb. 09--An off-duty Oklahoma City firefighter died Sunday in an Oklahoma City traffic accident, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

Shortly before 7 a.m., Joshua D. Kidd, 31, of Moore, was driving a pickup eastbound on Interstate 240 west of S Pennsylvania Avenue, troopers said.

The pickup went out of control and rolled over, troopers said.

Kidd, who was not wearing a seat belt, died at the scene, troopers said.

Fire Maj. Tammy McKinney said Kidd had been with the Oklahoma City Fire Department since November 2007.

Kidd had just finished working a shift and was driving home when the accident occurred, she said.

"Our hearts are broken. He was a good firefighter and a great guy," McKinney said. "We all are praying for family."
