La. Firefighter Killed When Fire Truck Overturns

 A Louisiana firefighter was killed Monday night when the fire truck he was driving went off the road.

Robert Thomas, 52, was a captain with Ward 7 Fire District of Bienville Parish, reports indicated.

State police told reporters the truck Thomas was operating went off the road, struck a ditch and overturned, pinning him.

The 30-year fire service veteran was leaving a house fire when he lost control.

Thomas, who  was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Bienville Parish Coroner's Office.
