ALEXANDRIA, Va. (WUSA9) -- Tuesday morning, a fire truck struck a pole in Alexandria. The pole snapped in half and brought down wires on Beacon Hill Road and Anthony Street. There is a power outage for some residents in the neighborhood.
The fire truck flipped and landed on its side in a yard on Beacon Hill Road. Officials tell us that four firefighters were taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Two other vehicles were also damaged.
The area is expected to remain shut down for some time. At 8 a.m., fire and police officials estimated that they would be on the scene investigating for eight hours. A detour has been set up at Oak and Beacon Hill Road.
It's unclear what lead to the accident at this time.
