Mo. Chief Suffers Chest Pains After Call, Dies

A 41-year-old battalion chief with the South Metropolitan Fire Protection District in Raymore, Missouri, died of natural causes several hours after responding to an emergency call.

A 41-year-old battalion chief with the South Metropolitan Fire Protection District in Raymore, Missouri, died of natural causes several hours after responding to an emergency call on Jan. 8.

According to the U.S. Fire Administration, Chief Christopher Allen Tindall had responded to a call on Wednesday night and died as a result of a cause yet to be officially reported. He was also a member of the Missouri Search and Rescue K9 Unit.

Several media outlets reported he suffered chest pains after the call, sought medical attention and later died after receiving treatment and being released. According to his preliminary obituary Tindall, who lives in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, he died at the Lee’s Summit Medical Center.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, Jan. 13 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the John Knox Village Pavilion in Lee’s Summit.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 14 at 2 p.m. at the John Knox Village Pavilion.
