Another Maine firefighter has been confronted while trying to extinguish a fire.
On Monday night, a Sidney firefighter was confronted by an angry man who struck him, according to CentralMaine.com.
Sidney Fire Chief Richard Jandreau told reporters Dana L.J. Nadeau, 51, refused to come out of the ranch house. A woman and a girl had escaped through a bedroom window.
“He didn’t want to come out of the building. He was trying to protect his house he said and he struck one of our firefighters,” Jandreau told the reporter.
Nadeau was charged with assault. He was transported to a hospital for treatment of burns and smoke inhalation. He was released.
The firefighter who was struck also was transported to be checked out, the fire chief reported.
On Saturday, another man threatened to kill Thorndike firefighters who showed up to battle a shed fire.
He told the firefighters he was trying to kill the demon spirits.
