A Matteson firefighter died while performing CPR Friday night.
Mark Zielinski, 49, responded to a store where a person collapsed. He started CPR efforts when he was stricken, according to CBS Chicago.
Matteson Fire Chief Chris Schwalbe said Zielinski has been with department for 13 years.
He previously worked at the Harvey Fire Department.
