A Lexington firefighter was punched while assisting a crash victim Tuesday morning.
Two men were in a vehicle that crashed outside the Lexington Opera House around 10:30 a.m.
A witness told local television station WKYT that the passenger got out of the vehicle and started running away.
The man was "just wobbling through the traffic...We didn't know what was wrong with him," the witness said.
The man stopped at a parking garage when an attendant called the fire department to come to his aid.
While they were evaluating him, Christopher Goodman, 23, punched a firefighter.
Police charged Goodman with third degree assault and possession of synthetic marijuana.
The driver of the car was charged with driving under the influence.
