"Why anyone would want to take stuff like that? It just amazes me," firefighter Robert Rasa said.

A firefighter's personal vehicle was among a group targeted by thieves in Harris County.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office said the two thieves broke into a dozen vehicles in the Copperfield Subdivision of Cypress over the last week.

"It was just shock," volunteer firefighter Robert Rasa told click2houston.com. "I saw all this glass on the ground. The window was busted out."

Some of his life-saving equipment was ripped off along with personal belongings.

Security camera footage he captured from his house showed the thieves breaking into a side window on the SUV before accessing the trunk with the equipment.

"Why anyone would want to take stuff like that? It just amazes me," he said. "Stuff that I use to help the community."

He hopes the security footage he captured will help police nab the two.
