Oct. 14, 2016
Wilmington firefighter Ardythe Hope was downgraded to critical condition.

Almost three weeks after Ardythe Hope was seriously injured in a deadly Wilmington rowhome fire, hospital officials said he condition was downgraded to critical condition.

While Crozer-Chester Medical Center staff confirmed the change in Hope's status Wednesday, they could not comment on the cause, The News Journal reported. She had been listed in serious but stable condition.

Firefighter Brad Speakman is still in the hospital and his condition has been listed as stable.

Wilmington Fire Chief Anthony Goode sent out the following tweet Wednesday, "Keep @WilmFireDept injured in your thoughts & (prayers). I'm also asking for some additional (prayers) for Ardy Hope! #KeepFightingArty We all love you!"

Hope sustained serious injuries in the Sept. 24 blaze that claimed Lt. Christopher Leach and firefighter Jerry Fickes.
