The Livermore firefighters returned to duty after being treated for minor burns sustained at an early morning fire.

LIVERMORE — An early morning fire on Saturday badly damaged a home in Livermore and left two firefighters with minor injuries.

The blaze was reported at 3 a.m. on the 900 block of Mocho Street. When firefighters arrived they saw a large amount of smoke and fire visible from the back of the house, officials said.

The well-involved fire outside made its way into the back bedroom and living area, said Battalion Chief Aaron Lacey. As crews battled flames in the back, they also went onto the roof to ventilate the home for any potential victims and firefighters inside.

One person was initially reported to have been inside, but was later determined to have made it out of the home.

Two firefighters had minor steam burns and were treated at the Stanford Valley Care Medical Center. Both have since returned to service.

The home itself had major smoke, fire and water damage.
