Food Network Star's Firefighting Nephew Critically Injured

Caleb Drummond, nephew of "Pioneer Woman" Ree Drummond, was ejected from a fire vehicle when it crashed head-on into another as they were heading to a fire near Pawhuska, OK.

A volunteer firefighter who is the nephew of food blogger and TV personality Ree Drummond was hospitalized in critical condition after being ejected 70 feet when his fire vehicle crashed into another in northeast Oklahoma.

WKRN News reports that Caleb Drummond, 21, was racing toward a fire about eight miles outside Pawhuska when his vehicle crashed head-on into another fire vehicle driven by his uncle Ladd Drummond. Ladd is husband to Ree Drummond, better known as "The Pioneer Woman" on her blog and Food Network TV show.

Both vehicles were driving on a dirt and gravel road at high speed amid strong winds, which resulted in very low visibility. Caleb and Ladd Drummond were both reported to be volunteer firefighters and were heading to assist battling a fire on the family ranch.

Caleb Drummond was taken by ambulance to a Tulsa hospital, while Ladd Drummond reportedly refused treatment at the scene.
