Denver Firefighter Killed, Another Hurt in ATV Crash

A member of the Denver Fire Department was killed and another was hospitalized after an all-terrain vehicle accident over the weekend.

CBS Denver reports that DFD firefighter Patrick John Mahan died following the ATV wreck near Wiggins on Saturday afternoon. The other firefighter, who was not identified, remains at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley with non life-threatening injuries.

“The Denver Fire Department sends thoughts and prayers to the family and friends of the firefighter who lost his life. We are reeling from this loss,” DFD spokesperson Greg Pixley told CBS Denver. “We are also wrapping our arms around the friends and family of the firefighter who was injured.”
