A fire district in central Arizona is in mourning after losing a firefighter to complications related to COVID-19.
According to KPHO/KTVK News, firefighter Tyrone Bell with the Verde Valley Fire District in Cottonwood lost his battle with the virus on Monday.
Bell, who began his career with the Verde Valley Ambulance Company, served as a reserve firefighter for the fire district before being hired full-time in 2017.
"To know Tyrone was to love him," Verde Valley Fire Chief Danny Johnson said in a statement. "His passing will leave a huge void here at Verde Valley Fire District."
