Bullet Strikes Occupied Detroit Fire Station

While no one was hurt, Detroit Fire Chief David Nelson said firefighters shouldn't have to fear while inside their station.

“Detroit firefighters dedicate their lives to protecting our residents, and they should never have to worry about their own safety while inside their station."

That's what Detroit Fire Chief David Nelson had to say after a bullet stuck the Engine 50 firehouse on the city's east side, WDIV reported.

Police reported the shots were fired across the street from the station Sunday night. No one in the station was hurt.

“This incident is a stark reminder of the dangers that reckless gunfire poses to everyone in our community," the chief added.
