Phenix Technology Earns Finalist Nod for 'Coolest Thing Made in California'

Phenix Technology's First Due helmet has been named a finalist in the CMTA's 'Coolest Thing Made in California' competition.

Phenix Technology declared itself a finalist in the "Coolest Thing Made in California" competition held by the California Manufacturers & Technology Association (CMTA). Among the more than one hundred California-made goods that were publicly nominated, Phenix's First Due helmet made it to the final round of four products in the Small-To-Medium Manufacturers category.

The history of the First Due helmet dates back to the late 1960s, when its initial design brought a contemporary perspective to a tradition-driven sector. The First Due quickly became a well-known symbol of the West Coast firefighting scene because it was made to be lighter and sit lower than other structural fire helmets. Firefighters all throughout the world wear the First Due, which is frequently dubbed as in the fire field as "The California Helmet." Every First Due helmet is proudly manufactured in Riverside, California.

“California is known for innovation, and we are proud to be recognized for our First Due helmet,” said Angel Sanchez, CEO. “As a firefighter who wore the First Due for more than two decades, this recognition is especially meaningful. I’m proud that every Phenix helmet is manufactured in California and that Phenix is the only Southern California company among this year’s Final Four.”

On Oct. 28, the winners of each category will be revealed.
