Workrite Uniform Company, a flame-resistant (FR) workwear manufacturer, has released its first Fire Service Cookbook. Now available on Amazon, the cookbook features favorite recipes from firefighters across North America.
The Fire Service Cookbook includes recipes for entrées ranging from steak, ribs and pulled pork to pasta, tacos and bacon burgers. It also includes appetizers, soups and chili, side dishes, and desserts, as well as breakfast favorites like stuffed French toast and biscuits and gravy.
To compile the cookbook, Workrite Uniform reached out to the firefighting community to request recipes for their favorite dishes. Firefighters were offered a free FR apron in exchange for their submissions. The completed cookbook includes a total of 49 recipes collected from the summer of 2016 to March of 2017.
“Whether they’re in the kitchen or responding to a call, firefighters deserve top-notch FR protection,” said Lew White, Workrite Uniform’s vice president of marketing and merchandising. “We see this cookbook, and the free FR aprons, as a fun way to promote safety while creating an opportunity for firefighters — who I consistently hear are great cooks — to share their best recipes with each other and the community.”
