Scott Safety Replaces Vancouver's SCBA Fleet
Scott Safety, a global manufacturer of respiratory and personal protective equipment and safety devices, announced the successful completion of SCBA fleet replacement for Vancouver Fire and Rescue Services (VFRS).
Scott Safety was chosen for its customer support, reliable and user-friendly products, and speedy delivery capabilities. Scott Safety secured NFPA 2013 approval for the Air-Pak X3 SCBA on Friday, March 21, 2014.
In just five days, VFRS received brand new, 2013-compliant SCBAs on-site, which replaced the loaned equipment that Scott Safety provided two months prior. In conjunction with the new product shipment, functional testing and extensive user and technician training were provided to ensure all equipment was in working order, seamlessly placed into service, and properly utilized by VFRS personnel.
“I have to say, Scott Safety has taken customer service to a new level,” said VFRS Training Officer / Air Room Coordinator Chris Herbert. “I am absolutely amazed with the efforts they put into getting our equipment to us. It seems unreal that our complete order of over 300 units has arrived in Vancouver less than one week after the 2013 approvals were released.”
Scott Safety is the first respiratory protection manufacturer to deliver NFPA 2013 compliant Air-Pak SCBAs. Next-generation materials, superior technical quality, and outstanding customer service, together with the ability to deliver product fast, enabled Scott Safety to meet and exceed the expectations of VFRS.
“Understanding our needs, Scott Safety was forthcoming in providing SCBAs and hundreds of air cylinders to outfit our frontline fire personnel,” said VFRS Deputy Chief Brian Godlonton. “This was a vast undertaking for Scott Safety to take on and to provide the numbers required for such a major metropolitan fire service.”
