Gunfire to Ring In New Year Misses St. Louis FF

A stray bullet shattered a window at the Engine No. 9 firehouse early Tuesday, nearly hitting a firefighter standing nearby.

"A close call that shouldn't happen. … (E)veryone says the same thing: Firing firearms into the air is not a way to celebrate,"  Capt. Leon Whitener told KSDK-TV.
