An Indiana firefighter suffered minor injuries Sunday after an apparatus was hit at the scene of a six-car accident. It was the second crash involving a Wayne Township vehicle that day, according to the department.

Wayne Township's Engine 82 was struck by a pickup truck while responding to an accident involving six cars, which injured three people, the department said. The truck driver fled on foot after the crash with the apparatus, and it's unclear if the driver was apprehended.

Earlier Sunday, Wayne Township's Engine 83 was hit while responding to a call about an unconscious person in a car, the department said. When crews reached the scene, the driver suddenly sped away and slammed into the apparatus.

The driver was intoxicated and was arrested by police, according to the department.
