Police are looking for a driver in connection with a hit-and-run accident that seriously injured a Texas firefighter Wednesday.
The incident happened around 7 a.m. while El Paso Fire Department crews were responding to a crash along Trans Mountain Road East, the El Paso Times reports. A vehicle described as either an SUV or a truck struck a firefighter at the scene of the previous accident and the sped off.
The firefighter, whose was not identified, was taken to University Medical Center in El Paso with serious injuries. He was in stable condition and was moved to the hospital's intensive care unit, KTSM-TV reports.
According to police, the SUV or truck that struck the firefighter had significant windshield damage from the accident, the Times added.
