Boston firefighter Mark Sheldon was released from a hospital to cheers from family and colleagues after spending a month fighting off a COVID-19 infection, including a chunk of that time spent on a ventilator.

Sheldon's wife Ranea told WBZ News that doctors at one point told her they didn't believe he was going to recover.
