Retired FL Firefighter Beats 4-Month COVID Battle

Ed Kriese recently retired from a 30-year firefighting career and was in a coma for 43 days of his four-month hospital stay with COVID-19.

Ed Kreise had difficulty breathing when his daughter took him to the hospital four months ago where he was diagnosed with COVID-19.

Within a day, Kreise was placed on a ventilator and spent 43 days in a coma, according to WinkNews.com. 

He returned home to North Fort Myers Wednesday, greeted by family, friends and firefighters, just in time to celebrate Thanksgiving.
