Dispatchers in 9-1-1 centers are trained to handle the unusual.
But, fighting off a man clad in a Speedo and a hat trying to get into your work place is not likely addressed in the sessions.
But, that's what two operators had to do in Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office dispatch a few months back, WMUR reported this week after obtaining a video of the intrustion.
Cory Nickerson forced his way into the building by following an employee through a secured door.
Two dispatchers were injured, one seriously, during the scuffle that Hillsborough County Sheriff Brian Newcomb called a 'random attack.'
Nickerson, 50, who ran from the building, was chased and apprehended by police.
He has pleaded not guilty to assault, criminal threatening and false imprisonment. He remains behind bars.
Newcomb added: "...There are lasting effects to this, as they did sustain some seriously bodily injury, and certainly, the emotional damage, you know, coming to work every day and knowing that this is where the act happened."
