A veteran Indianapolis fire officer died on his way to work Saturday.
Battalion Chief Barry Riddle, 62, had been with department since 1986.
About 6:30 a.m., a resident found Riddle dead in his vehicle along an Owen County Road, CBS4 reported.
While no foul play is suspected, an autopsy is being conducted to determine the cause of death.
Indianapolis Fire Chief Ernest Malone said of Riddle: "He was described as a well-loved member of the department, a good firefighter and an even better man. For all of us who served with Barry, we are deeply saddened by his loss. He will be sorely missed."
