Collapse Injures Several Philadelphia Firefighters at Rowhome Blaze

Nine Philadelphia firefighters were injured, two seriously, as fire engulfed five rowhomes.

A late-night fire in Philadelphia where a collapse occurred left 10 people injured, including nine firefighters who were taken to the hospital.

The fire in the Wynnefield neighborhood was reported around 10:30 p.m. and fire department officials told CBS Philadelphia that the flames engulfed four rowhomes after spreading from the original fire building.

Two firefighters were hospitalized with serious injuries, and seven others were treated and released. 

Fire officials said a collapse occurred inside one of the buildings as firefighters worked for nearly four hours to bring the fire under control.
