A Boston firefighter went into cardiac arrest Saturday evening while battling a building.

The firefighter was rushed to a hospital for treatment. There was no word on his condition.

Deputyin Fire Chief Brian Tully told WCVB a welder had been working in the building earlier in the day.

"These buildings weren't really put together very well back in the day. The boards are about an inch and a half thick. Very labor-intensive."
