Clopay Corporation Releases Conceal Motor Operator for Fire Doors
The AlarmGard Conceal Motor Operator is a little solution that Clopay Corporation offers for its Counter Fire Doors. The new space-saving motor operator, available under the Clopay, Cornell and Cookson brands, simplifies aesthetics while providing dependable alarm-triggered closure during a fire situation. AlarmGard Conceal decreases headroom requirements for the coil and operator by 11 inches by enclosing the motor and controller behind the door hood. This results in a 34% savings in area compared to normal operators.
“AlarmGard Conceal is a fantastic complement to our counter fire doors because it helps balance the essential fire protection that building owners require with the sleek, space-saving aesthetics that commercial designers want,” said Heather Bender, Clopay Corporation senior director of product marketing.
The AlarmGard Conceal Motor Operator can be fitted flush with the ceiling, hiding the motor and operator and creating a neat, soffit-like appearance in addition to reducing the size of the hood. AlarmGard Conceal additionally raises the bracket height and aligns the brackets with the stoppers for a seamless appearance on counter fire doors that are 10 feet and wider.
The most recent addition to Clopay Corporation's line of fire-rated counter doors is AlarmGard Conceal, which expands the company's potent line of smoke and fire safety devices with thoughtful engineering.
With its UL 325 listing and built-in battery backup, the AlarmGard Conceal Motor Operator can avoid accidental drops during brief power outages for up to an hour. The operator guarantees prompt, dependable deployment in alarm mode by offering 24VDC failsafe performance without fusible connections. When a fire occurs or there is a prolonged power outage, the fire alarm control panel or the local detector directly notifies the motor operator via electrical fire alarm signal connection points. After the door is closed at a certain speed by the motor, the brake activates. The time-consuming chore of manually resetting the door after an occurrence is eliminated because the door automatically opens and restores to its predefined position when the alarm goes off or power is restored.
Because of its small size and chain-driven sprocket, AlarmGard Conceal may be mounted out-of-shaft and front-of-pipe, making installation and maintenance easier. All connections are plug-and-play, and the motor operator is conveniently accessible through a maintenance panel without removing the barrel. It is situated outside the barrel and beneath the hood.
The newest innovation in the counter fire door line is the AlarmGard Conceal Motor Operator. Counter fire doors have UL fire ratings of up to three hours and come in counter-height and full-height apertures. They include sophisticated fire safety features in addition to their strong structural integrity, which is provided by a steel curtain and galvanized steel hood. These doors, which come in a range of appealing designs, raise the bar for both security and style. For instance, Clopay Corporation's cutting-edge smoke gasketing technology, which is incorporated into door guides and satisfies UL 1784 requirements for reducing smoke migration, is the SmokeShield package.
Apart from the AlarmGard Conceal Motor Operator, standard end caps that conceal the end assemblies, color-matched bottom bars that tuck into the headbox when opened, and SpectraShield powder coat finishes in more than 180 standard RAL colors are additional design-focused features and options available with counter fire doors. Counterfire doors come in heights of up to 10 feet and widths of up to 16 feet. Please be aware that the maximum height is only 7 feet 6 inches for units that are wider than 12 feet. They are sold under the Clopay, Cornell and Cookson brands, just like AlarmGard Conceal.
