The Manhattan Fire Department consists of 4 stations providing protection to approx. 60,000 citizens in Manhattan, K.S.U., and parts of Riley County.

Manhattan is located in Northeast Kansas just north off of I-70 and is home to Kansas State University. The Manhattan Fire Department consists of 4 stations providing protection to approx. 60,000 citizens in Manhattan, K.S.U., and parts of Riley County. Station #4 was opened in February of 2002 at the Manhattan Regional Airport. The station provides ARFF support to the airfield as well as well as regular fire protection to the city of Manhattan. The station houses 2 crash fire rescue trucks and a 75' Quint. There is a minimum of 4 personnel assigned to the station on 3 shifts.Photos by Driver/EMT Eric Scruggs
