FDNY firefighters disarmed a knife-wielding man who tried to enter a Queens firehouse following a stabbing early Monday.
Initially, members of FDNY's Squad 288 had encountered a 26-year-old man who had been stabbed in the leg, WABC-TV reports. They then brought the victim to their Maspeth fire station for treatment.
According to police, Daniel Gomez, 27, tried to enter the station a short time later, wielding a knife. He was disarmed by firefighters before anyone was injured.
Police were called to the station, and the stabbing victim was taken to Elmhurst hospital. Gomez, who was accused of stabbing the 26-year-old man, was arrested and charged with assault, WABC added.
