A Wisconsin apparatus was destroyed when the department's station caught fire Thursday.

The blaze broke out at about 1:30 p.m. at the Vandenbroek-Kaukauna Fire Department's station near the intersection of State Road 55 and Outagamie County JJ, WFRV-TV reports. Smoke was spotted by a passerby, and firefighters were able to put out the flames.

"It appears the fire originated on the department’s primary engine, 4221," the department said in a statement. "This unit is deemed a total loss."

The station suffered damage in blaze, and investigators are trying to determine how the fire started. No one was hurt in the incident.

“We do have a second engine that will be in service so our towns will still be protected, and we already have mutual aid pacts with surrounding departments, where when we get paged a second department will get paged along with us," Assistant Chief Joe Lancour told WFRV.
