Man Charged with Entering, Stealing from North Fort Myers, FL, Fire Station
Surveillance footage captured a man brandishing a metal pipe entering the North Fort Myers fire station over the weekend.
Moments later, he walked out wearing a firefighter jacket and carrying a tote, GulfCoastNews reported.
He was observed trying to open doors of vehicles in a parking lot. He placed items from a truck and placed them in the tote.
Deputies headed to the station to investigate spotted a man walking along a road carrying a fire department coat and suspenders. They also noted he was out of breath.
Edgar Barrios, 38, faces charges of burglary of an occupied dwelling (unarmed), criminal mischief less than $2,000, burglary of an unoccupied conveyance and petit theft.
In addition to entering the fire station, he also broke into a vehicle parked at a house across the street. Two residents chased him out of their yard.
