Emergent EMS Achieves NEMSIS Compliance
In a significant step toward the company's goal of providing a uniform operating platform for fire and EMS departments, Emergent announced that it has formally attained NEMSIS v3.5.1 certification for Collect and Send Data.
Departments can use Emergent EMS for standardized patient care reporting and data submission because the designation attests to Emergent EMS's successful fulfillment of the requirements set forth by the National EMS Information System (NEMSIS) Technical Assistance Center (TAC).
By combining incident response, fleet management, inspections, and EMS reporting into a unified platform created by first responders for first responders, the accomplishment advances Emergent's goal of eliminating fragmented processes.
"Achieving NEMSIS compliance is more than a technical milestone - it's another step toward delivering data confidence for fire and EMS agencies," said Kimberly Duyck, president of Emergent. "Rather than relying on information reconstructed after a call, departments can leverage connected operational and patient care data captured throughout the response. The result is greater visibility, more accurate reporting, and better-informed decisions across the organization."
As the national standard for gathering EMS data, NEMSIS assists federal partners, states and agencies in enhancing patient care, operational efficiency, and research on emergency medical services. Now that compliance has been attained, departments utilizing Emergent EMS can confidently use a platform designed to handle the reality of contemporary emergency response to gather, manage and report patient care data.
"With this latest addition to Emergent's offering, we set out to create a platform where patient care remains at the forefront of both the emergency response as well as the data collection," said Jared Morante, chief technology officer of Emergent. "Achieving NEMSIS compliance validates the foundation we've built and allows departments to take advantage of a more connected approach to EMS operations."
In terms of Emergent's ongoing investment in public safety technology and its dedication to provide agencies with tools that enhance operational awareness, lower cognitive demand and streamline reporting requirements, this milestone is a major advancement. Agencies looking for a contemporary, integrated approach to EMS reporting and operations can now choose from Emergent EMS, one of the NEMSIS-compliant software options.
