Verizon Frontline Network Slice Expands Nationwide
Verizon announced the expansion of this revolutionary technology to include availability on compatible computers, tablets, and smartphones, building on the successful statewide launch of the Verizon Frontline Network Slice.
First responders on the front lines will have access to dedicated, secure, and fast connectivity on the devices they use most frequently for everyday tasks and emergency response thanks to this expansion.
“By extending our network slicing capabilities directly to the devices in the hands of our nation’s first responders, we are able to provide dedicated network resources for their most critical data,” said Massimo Peselli, Chief Revenue Officer, Global Enterprise and Public Sector, Verizon Business. “This helps ensure that life-saving applications perform at their peak, even in the most crowded or congested environments.”
The Verizon Frontline Network Slice is a 5G Ultra Wideband (UW) virtual network slice that permits the distribution of network resources within Verizon's network architecture and is entirely devoted to public safety. First responders benefit from this in a number of important ways, such as (but not limited to):
- First responders are the only users of dedicated 5G UW network resources, which assist guarantee network resource availability, priority, and improved service quality.
- Customized performance for mission-critical applications powered by compatible devices, such as live drone feeds and mobile command centers, to assist guarantee data traffic is tailored for first responders' operational requirements.
- Improved dependability that considerably lowers the possibility of mission-critical communications being disrupted, especially in times of severe network congestion.
- Flexible scalability enables Verizon to effectively distribute dedicated network resources in real-time according to first responders' operational requirements.
