RadioMobile Awarded Contract from CALFIRE For Statewide Communications
SAN DIEGO, CA - The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CALFIRE) has entered into a contract with RadioMobile, Inc. to provide technology that will allow the department to efficiently and accurately locate and communicate with emergency response equipment statewide. The objective of the project is to enhance the department’s situational awareness enhancing firefighter and citizen safety and facilitate mission critical data communications over a variety of networks (broadband, narrowband and satellite).
Under the agreement, RadioMobile will provide a centralized location tracking application, a mobile data terminal solution that reliably receives incident information, provides mapping and enables vehicle operators to communicate via a touchscreen application interfacing with their CAD system. RadioMobile will also provide the equipment, services and support needed to implement a statewide VHF mobile data system and integrate network switching between broadband/cellular, VHF and satellite for 1,200+ CALFIRE-owned state resources.
CALFIRE is dedicated to the fire protection and stewardship of over 31 million acres of California's privately-owned wildlands.
